about

I started this session by creating a set of rules to use dice rolls to determine the tempo, duration, meter, starting instrument, key, and (optional) additional chords.

-- See the cover art for this album to see the rules and dice roll chart . --

I then created a Logic project for each song. Then started recording them. Of course, adherence to the "rules" got looser as the day went on. :-)

I ran out of time after track 16 so Micah, Emil, and I made tracks 17-20 in the car on the way to Iago's house.

Track Name: 1.
He gets on with life as a politician,
He's a kind kinda chap.
He likes practising guitar and playing computer games.
He likes to contemplate chickens.
But when he starts to daydream,
His mind turns straight to, ducks.

Sometimes I look at him and I look into his eyes,
I notice the way he thinks about ducks with a smile,
Curved lips he just can't disguise.
But he thinks it's chickens making his life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for him to decide which he loves more?
Chickens or...
Ducks? He likes to use words like 'splendid' and 'typo.'
He likes to use words about chickens.
But
Track Name: 11.
This was never the way I planned
Not my intention
I got so brave, coat in hand
Lost my discretion
It's not what, I'm used to
Just wanna try you on
I'm curious for you
Caught my attention

I kissed a hippo and I liked it
The taste of his great nose
I kissed a hippo just to try it
I hope my great uncle don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean anything, right?
